One-Time Volunteer Opportunities


Who: Family Hospice.
What: Volunteers are needed for our annual Tree of Memories event for the holidays, where community members can purchase handmade angel ornaments in memory of loved ones.  Help people make purchases, visit with customers, etc.
When: Any day from now through Friday, December 22.  Monday-Thursday shifts can be anytime 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Fridays-Sundays anytime 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Who: Salvation Army of Saint Louis - Angel Tree Store.
What: Volunteers are needed to help at our Holiday Angel Tree store, where over 10,000 children and families in need will come for toys, gifts, and food.  Assist with store maintenance, helping customers, and more.
When: Volunteers can work any of the following days, for any amount of time:
   - December 11-15, 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
   - December 16, 9:00 a.m. - Noon
   - December 18-22, 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Who: St. Louis Chess Club
What: Volunteers are needed for our monthly chess tournaments for St. Louis Public School youth. No chess experience necessary - help with set-up, scoring, registration, and more.
When: Sunday, December 17 anytime 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Who: Missouri Botanical Garden - Butterfly House
What: Volunteers are needed for Supper With Santa, our biggest event and fundraiser of the year.  Help with registration and check-in, running activities, serving food and drinks, etc.
When: December 15-17, 20, all from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Who: LifeBridge Partnership, assisting children with developmental disabilities in the St. Louis Public Schools system.
What: Volunteers are needed to accompany children with disabilities on our annual field trip to Wild Nights at the St. Louis Zoo.
When: Wednesday, December 20 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Who: Jewish and Muslim Day of Community Service
What: Volunteers are encouraged to register for one of several volunteer projects taking place in St. Louis on Christmas Day.  Volunteers of all faiths (or of none) are welcome!
