- My research interests focus on improving nerve regeneration. My active laboratory research group in the School of Medicine bridges the disciplines of biophysics and biomedical engineering. We utilize 3-dimensional biomaterial scaffolds to improve the extracellular support and environment for neurons to grow. We measure the signaling processes of regenerating neurons using methods of neuroscience, biophysics and analytical chemistry. Our long-term goal is to improve functional nerve regeneration to target tissues.
