Eat Locally. Impact Globally. Fresh Gatherings Cafe is a student-run cafe that offers local farm-fresh food, including some vegan options, in Saint Louis University’s Allied Health Building.
Start the day off with a buffet of eggs, bacon, potatoes, breakfast sandwiches and,
on select days, pancakes. Each day at lunch you can purchase items from the salad
and soup bar, build your own sandwich from the deli, or grab a pre-made "Grab-and-Go"
option. An ever-changing list of specials, including main dishes and sides, fill your
craving for a home-cooked meal. Favorites from the hot line include chicken pot pie,
glazed salmon and roasted veggies.
Students who work at Fresh Gatherings receive the opportunity to gain professional experience in the culinary field. Daily specials often showcase the delicious foods that have been prepared in Doisy College culinary classes.
Across the cafe, you will find an assortment of delicious baked goods created by Chef Todd Parkhurst, pastry chef and instructor in the nutrition and dietetics department. The bakery offers another learning opportunity for students, who gain culinary knowledge in the art of creating the perfect baguettes, focaccia, scones, bagels and more.
Perhaps most importantly, especially for those who struggle to get moving in the morning, Fresh Gatherings offers coffee. Local roasters Blueprint Coffee and Mississippi Mud are responsible for the daily caffeine fix. Check in with Fresh Gathering’s Facebook page to get information on the current offerings.
