We understand that you already have experience at college, so we've designed SLU 101 Transfer Orientation specifically to meet the special needs of transfer students.
The one-day program includes information sessions with your school or college, individual meetings with an academic adviser, making connections with other students, reserving your textbooks and getting your student ID.
You’ll also learn about important campus resources at SLU, including Information Technology Services, the Office of Parking and Card Services, the Student Involvement Center, campus ministry, the Department of Housing and Residence Life, the Student Success Center, student financial services and more.
Because we provide a great deal of information relevant to your academic success and register you for your first semester classes, it is expected that all new transfer students will participate in this program. We look forward to welcoming you to SLU!
SLU 101 Transfer Orientation registration begins on Thursday, March 1, 2018, for students beginning fall 2018, and there are three SLU 101 transfer sessions offered during the summer. The three summer SLU 101 sessions for transfer students are May 29, July 2, and Aug. 3, 2018. Fall semester classes begin Monday, Aug. 27, 2018.
To register for SLU 101, log into mySLU (your username and password can be found in your admission packet). Click on the Tools tab, and then on the SLU 101 Registration icon. Note: You must submit your enrollment deposit before registering for SLU 101.
Below is a sample schedule for students and parents/family members that attend SLU 101 Transfer Orientation. A parent or family member is encouraged to attend with their transfer student. Please remember when you are registering for SLU 101 to also register your guests (parent/family member) so we can prepare materials for them.
Unfortunately, yes. Each program has a limited capacity because we make every effort to provide you with the opportunity to meet individually with an academic adviser.
After you complete and submit the SLU 101 Transfer Orientation registration and advising information forms through mySLU, you will select the date of the SLU 101 Transfer Orientation session that you are able to attend. (For students starting in the spring semester, there is only one session available to attend in January; for students starting in the fall semester, there are three sessions available in the summer.)
Yes. In addition to registering for classes, you’ll be getting important information that will help you to adjust to your first semester at Saint Louis University. You may not think you need it now, but you will appreciate it later.
We expect all new transfer students to attend SLU 101 Transfer Orientation because it provides an opportunity for you to meet with your adviser to register, to discuss degree requirements and to learn about campus services and facilities. If you are truly unable to attend, please contact your admissions counselor to make other arrangements to complete registration.
